Teri Barnes founded Barnes & Co Insurance Services, Inc. in 2000, and has extensive experience in the Commercial Insurance industry. She is a native San Diegan, and obtained her college degree at San Diego State University. Teri's passion for her work has led Barnes & Co. to rapid growth, and the agency currently holds the distinction of "agency of choice" in Apartment to Condominium conversions, with over 7000 units insured in multiple states. Her diverse knowledge of contracts, coupled with her deep devotion to service has led Barnes & Co. to have an unsurpassed rate of renewal business. Teri is a member of the BIA , and works directly with developers, contractors, homeowner associations, and market professionals brainstorming effective ways to serve her clients.
Diane R. Bell, CIC
Diane Bell has over 20 years experience in Commercial Insurance. She graduated from college in Upstate New York and moved to San Diego in 1987. Diane has managed a variety of commercial insurance clients including real estate owners, real estate developers, bio-tech, retail, industrial, general contractors and construction programs including Owner Controlled Insurance Programs (OCIP). Diane has been involved in contract development, as well as administration of the OCIP programs. Her experience has involved multi-state as well as multi-country insurance programs. Diane has held the position of President, Vice President and Secretary in addition to a number of Executive Board positions for the San Diego Insurance Women organization. She also holds the Certified Insurance Counselor designation from The National Alliance for Insurance Education & Research.
Susan P. Koelle, Controller
Susan started her career with Barnes & Co. in 2003 as a full-charge bookkeeper, and Executive Assistant to the President/CEO, Teri Barnes. Over the course of her tenure with Barnes & Co., she has become actively involved in many areas of the Agency, adding to her responsibilities those of Human Resources, Marketing, Website design, Graphic Arts, in addition to earning her Insurance License concurrently with a CIC designation. With Teri Barnes' technological expertise and vision in mind, Susan helped to develop the "SuperCert" program, a means by which insured Condominium Unit owners, Lenders, Title Companies, and Homeowner's Associations are able to access, complete, and print Certificates of Insurance from their home or office computer. This process greatly lessens the pressure of the deadlines associated with real estate purchase and close of escrow. In the Escrow and Title community, the "SuperCert" is considered quite a breakthrough in the industry, and Barnes & Co. has received resounding support for development of this program. Susan is active in San Diego Insurance Women, the National Alliance of Insurance Women, and the BIA of San Diego.
