Teri Barnes, CIC - President, CEO    

      Teri Barnes solves insurance and risk management puzzles for her clients.  Many consider her their "secret weapon".  She is an integral part of the success of her rapidly growing portfolio of businesses experiencing rapid growth in a difficult economy.  Barnes is a second-generation insurance professional.  She is one of a rare few who has a BS degree in Insurance.  Barnes also earned the CIC designation, attends Insurance Ruble Institutes, RIMS, and IRMI Construction Risk Management seminars to remain current on changes in insurance policy forms, laws and interpretations.  Barnes is an insurance lobbyist and has carried several critical bills through Sacramento. 

       Barnes was a top agent performer with one of the largest insurance agencies in the world.  She founded Marrs Barnes & Maddocks as well as the innovative internet agency, NetChoice, a predecessor to E-surance.  As business changes, Barnes delivers, developing unique products to meet the changing needs of her business owners.  In 2002, one of her largest clients was not able to purchase apartments to convert to Condominium units.  Barnes resolved this with a Construction Wrap-Up product to meet the needs of both the buyer and seller of the apartments.  Upon close of escrow of the completed and sold units, another problem presented itself - Escrow and title companies needing a certificates of insurance to close escrow...immediately!  Barnes developed a proprietary service called "Super Certs" to allow the lenders to pull certificates instantly online - thereby shortening the escrow process substantially and saving her clients time and money.  

       Barnes newest success is providing Troubled Asset Protection for Broken Construction Projects and other lender foreclosed assets.  Barnes is on the Risk Management Committee of the BIA, and is currently publishing a book on Construction Risk Managment. Barnes is a part of the Green Energy Coalition in Washington D.C., and is Risk Manager for International WoodFuels.  Teri Barnes is also honored to be on many boards of directors, focused on "giving back" to her community as well as other San Diegans.

Deborah Lyddy, CSR, Paralegal

    Deborah joined Barnes & Co in 2008. Lyddy's 10 years experience as a paralegal is an asset for our Liability, Workers' Compensation, Auto Fleets, and Professional Liability clients.  Lyddy takes care of all the "details" within the agency, and that helps to ease the day-to-day chaos of working with underwriters and bringing in the most competitive quotes;  She knows how important it is for our clients to have an immediate response when disaster hits.  Lyddy earned her California Property and Casualty License in 2010.

Rich Foran - Board of Directors

    Rich is the President of Wrap-Up-Advisiors in New York.  Formerly, Rich was the President of the construction division of AIG Insurance.  Following the destruction of the Twin Towers on September 11, 2001, there was much debate regarding the future of the World Trade Center site.  Rich worked directly with the Lower Manhattan Development Corporation and the site's leaseholder, Larry Silverstein, who sought Rich's advice on reconstruction ideas from an insurance standpoint.  Rich was honored to donate his time and expertise to this historic endeavor.

Steve Waters, LUTC - Board of Directors

     Steve Waters brings his 35 years insurance experience in entertainment and income property to Barnes & Co advisory board.  Waters is Vice President at Kaercher Campbell and Associates in their Los Angeles and Las Vegas offices, and President of Asset Protection Services Group, a Risk Management and Consulting firm.  Steve's diverse background in the area of entertainment insurance is sought after in several States.  He currently resides in Las Vegas, Nevada, where his specialty includes Hotels, Casinos, Apartments, Shopping Centers, Golf Courses & Country Clubs.  Steve also works directly with Indian Gaming, Professional Sports teams including the LA Clippers, the NBA, Hollywood Movie, Film, and Broadway Productions.
